Good for Small businesses, creators, new launches
A software studio by Jordan Romero · Austin, TX
I build websites, AI features and full products for small teams, then make sure the people using and selling them actually get it.
What I do
Marketing sites, landing pages and launch pages that load fast, read clearly and are easy for you to update.
Good for Small businesses, creators, new launches
Add an LLM feature or an automation to what you already have: summaries, search, assistants, internal agents. With guardrails, and docs a human can read.
Good for Teams with a product and an idea for AI
Founding-engineer style: the web app, the backend, the database and the deploy. An MVP you can put in front of customers.
Good for Founders going from idea to first users
Release notes, help docs, demo scripts and team training, so the thing you built actually gets used and sold.
Good for Anyone shipping something people need to understand
How it works
A call about the problem you're solving, not the tech. No jargon required.
A one-page plan with scope, timeline and cost that you can read in five minutes.
A weekly check-in and a link you can click, so you always know where things stand.
Docs, a walkthrough and training. You own the code, the accounts and the domain.
Why Common Tongue
At a tabletop game, Common is the language everyone at the table speaks. That's the job here: one shared language between your business, your customers and your software.
Selected work
Founding engineer for a dialect-training platform for actors: a launch site with signups, and an online course built around the International Phonetic Alphabet.
Next.js · TypeScript · Supabase · Prisma · VercelOwn product · AI + DiscordA Discord bot and web app that gives a tabletop campaign a memory you can talk to, filtered so each player only learns what their character knows.
TypeScript · Supabase + pgvector · Claude agents · Live transcription
Who you'd work with
I'm a senior software engineer at an AI startup, where I build realtime voice features, LLM pipelines and integrations, and own the release notes and product training for our sales and success teams.
Before engineering I worked in social services, translating between people and systems. That's still the job: build the right thing, then make sure it makes sense to the humans on the other end.
Full background and résumé ↗Questions
Yes, that's most of the point. You bring the problem and the customers; I'll handle the technical decisions and explain the ones that matter to you.
Anything from a two-week website to a multi-month product build. I take on a small number of projects at a time so each one gets real attention.
Usually Next.js, TypeScript, Postgres and Vercel or AWS, with Claude or OpenAI for AI work. I'll pick what you can maintain, not what's trendy.
You do. Everything lives in your GitHub, hosting and domain accounts, and you get a handoff doc when we're done.
Absolutely. I'm comfortable joining an existing codebase, reviewing PRs, and translating between engineering and everyone else.
A few sentences is plenty. I'll write back with next steps.
